The Confrence-Day 2

So, I don't know about everyone else--but I am having an awesome time. The leader guy--Josh--is sooo funny. Just now he set up two single adult leaders and said that they'd pay for them to go to dinner and a movie tonight. I don't know about anyone else but that is just awesome. For real.

The worship is also really good. I don't know. There is something about being in a room full of other youth that are worshiping God with their whole hearts that gives me chills. It helps me worship more. I love it.

But more on how much I love it here later.

Sermon on the Mountain
Matthew 5: 13-16
"...let your good deeds shine out so everyone wll praise your heavenly Father"
What does good mean?
--beneficial
--pleasing
--a warm fuzzy feeling inside

--GOOD IS ANYTHING THAT REFLECTS THE IMAGE AND GOODNESS OF GOD
--DEEDS ARE ANYTHING CONNECTED TO WHAT WE DO OR HOW WE LIVE

GOOD DEEDS ARE
--reflected glory
--Anything connected to what we do or live that reflects the glory of God.

The intended purpose for us is that we would accurately depict the image and glory of God
--Genesis 1: 27-31
--We go out into the world reflecting that glory.
--We want people to exprience what it's like to live with God.
--What is that thing--that activity, that cause, that idea--that might be put in the middle of the alley for everyone to see to know what its like to be in a relationship with God???
--Good deeds are not a part of evangelism...they ARE evangelism

How then, should we live?
--John 3:17
--Don't condemn the world.
--Cheese wiz is a bad imitation of something good.
--Romans 12:2 "Don't copy the behaviors and customs of this world..."?
--We can create good.
--We have a relationship with the creator of the universe who lives within us. We ought to be creating the best things.
--WE CAN CREATE GOOD.
